In the First Semester/Marking period we are focusing on erosion and deposition. This is one of the project/lab we had done. This unit is about ... and this lab report is to sum up what we learn about erosion and rivers. The lab contain many vocabulary words I learned and I have to admit that the experiment was fun. (Apparently my grade for this lab report isn't so goo, because I forgot to mention certain stuff -> I'll make sure to keep those things in mind next time when writing another lab report. Learn from your mistakes).
2nd Marking Period:
In the Second Semester/Marking Period we focus on weathering/weather, ocean and climates. This marking period we learn a little bit about the atmosphere because of the Troposphere that have all the weather happening in that layer. Weathering/weather also connects to what we learn about erosion and deposition during the first marking period. While learning about ocean, like the waves and etc we learn about the winds. The direction it moves in, how it form/created and how it connect to climate and the atmosphere (which we are gonna learn in the next marking period). during this period we had project of making a book about Tornado and Hurricane to learn the difference between these two natural disaster.
3rd Marking Period:
In the Third Semester/Marking Period we learn about the atmosphere. The layers of it and what it contains and what's it does. For explain like the ozone layer is in the stratosphere and protects Earth from the sun such as UV rays and radiation. We also learned about Earthquakes. Like how it happens, the strength of it, and how it's cause. We learn how to find the epicenter of the earthquake. We also learn how people record earthquake. By learning Earthquakes it leads into Plate Tectonics. Plate Tectonics is the plates that in the earth and we learn how to identify which kind of plate is which. For example like Oceanic plates or Continental plates. We also learned about what happens to the land/ocean when plates collide (take earthquake for an example) and etc. We learn the plate boundaries and how it moves. For example there's transformation, convergent, divergent plate boundary. We made a brochure about each type of plate boundary at the end of this unit.
4th Marking Period:
In the Fourth Semester/Marking Period we learned about rocks and mineral. How to define what type of rock/mineral it is. Sedimentary, Metamorphic or Igneous. We learn what the difference of rock and mineral. (This unit is a bit hard for me because I think it's a bit hard to tell sort out the three different type of mineral because some mineral are really similar to another rock which is another type of mineral). After rock we learned about the Solar System. We learn about seasons (how/why there are different seasons and what cause it), and the moon phases (different phases the moon goes into and why).
